Nordik Mini Predator is a compact predator mouth call specially developed to meet the demands of calling predators under Nordic winter conditions. The mouthpiece is freeze proof, and the call features a smaller sound board and a thinner membrane than its big brother Nordik Predator, providing finer sound control and a wide range of natural predator-attracting sounds.

The call is simple and intuitive to use. You don’t need to blow extremely hard – steady air from the diaphragm is enough to create convincing mouse squeaks and rabbit distress calls. Thanks to its small size, Nordik Mini Predator is easy to carry on every hunt and is especially well suited for cold, snowy hunts for fox and jackal.

Main sound types – from rodent squeaks to rabbit distress

1. Rodent squeaks (mouse and vole)
To imitate mouse and vole squeaks, place the O-ring, your teeth or lips at the outermost part of the membrane and blow in short bursts into the call. This produces high-pitched, subtle sounds that predators associate with an easy meal and little risk.

2. Distress calls from rabbit and hare
These calls are easy to make by placing the O-ring, your teeth or lips in the middle of the mouthpiece and blowing steadily into the call. The further back you position on the membrane, the coarser and more intense the sound becomes. Open and close your hand in front of the outlet to shape the tone and give it a more „alive“ character.

Add a rough „grrr“ from your throat while blowing if you want a more painful and desperate sound. This often triggers a stronger, quicker response from foxes and other predators that are used to hunting distressed prey.

Tactics, stand selection and winter predator hunting

Nordik Mini Predator is built to perform reliably in sub-zero temperatures, where ordinary calls may freeze. This makes it an excellent choice for fox and jackal hunting on snow-covered fields, pastures and forest edges. Always set up with the wind in mind, as experienced predators will try to approach from downwind to check the area for danger before committing.
